Ryan Ross has gone through his entire life without being loved. As a child, his father was an abusive alcoholic and his mother suffered from manic depression. His best friend Spencer abandoned him upon learning of his sexuality (i.e. definitely not straight). In fact, every relationship Ryan has ever entered has finished with him used, abused and broken. It’s quite sad really; he still hasn’t quite given up on his hopeless dream of love. Every single time, he’ll give himself heart and soul for any caricature of intimacy. Because of this, he’s a little too submissive for his own good... He’s just had to learn to pick himself up off the floor and walk (painfully) away, smiling and perfectly composed for the cameras.
Ryan pretends to be confident for the cameras, but underneath the surface, he is very shy, quiet and has extremely low self-esteem. He frequently suffers from eating disorders and depression, but no one really seems to notice: he pretends he’s perfectly happy-happy-happy (if he can fool the media, he can fool anybody, right?). In fact, he’s constantly terrified that he’s too ugly and too fat for his job, but that he’s not good enough for anything else.
He just wants to be loved.
Likes: flowers (especially roses), ‘real’ smiles, coffee, reading
Dislikes: himself, other people seeing him cry
